Your smile should be something that you show off proudly. However, for many people, this isn’t the case. Individuals are often embarrassed by their smiles because of some dental issues like missing a tooth or yellow teeth. Braces can create significant positive changes in your life. They can improve overlapping or crooked teeth, reduce cavities because they reduce the chances of food becoming trapped in between crooked teeth, and they can also elevate your self-confidence by enhancing your smile. However, you need to take proper care of them during your orthodontic treatment so as to have good results after treatment.
There are three main types of orthodontic braces. These are:
- Metal Braces— Today, the most common types of braces are new and improved metal braces. They are made of high-quality stainless steel, and they correct teeth alignment using their metal archwires and brackets. Many young people use colorfully decorated elastic bands to enhance their smiles.
- Ceramic Braces— Clear ceramic braces are less noticeable than metal braces. These types of braces are highly favored by patients in their late teens and young adults. Since ceramic orthodontic appliances are less flexible and larger in size than metallic ones, they need greater attention to maintain proper dental hygiene.
- Invisible Braces— Invisible (clear) braces such as Invisalign, straighten the teeth by means of easy-to-wear, invisible, and removable aligners. Since they are removable, you won’t have to worry about anything you eat. You can enjoy your meals and snacks without fear of clogging or damaging your braces with different kinds of sticky or hard foods. When you remove your braces, you can easily brush and floss your teeth as usual. These types of braces don’t cause scrapes, irritations or cuts because they don’t contain metallic parts.

As such, it can be a major problem when a person has issues with his or her smile, such as gaps in the teeth or crooked teeth thatcan cause self-consciousness.

Although the sentiment may be heartfelt, every tooth is actually worth around the price of a small diamond to you. If you lose a tooth because of a lack of care for that tooth, the amount of money that you will have to pay in order to repair the subsequent damages will total up to about the price of a diamond.

Lasers have several potential applications in dentistry and can greatly reduce the time required for your orthodontic treatment.
